**Company documents in one place. With a history of who uploaded what.**

> **In short:** The Document storage module is a shared place for company documents in folders. You upload files to a chosen folder, you can upload a new version of a file, and the history shows who uploaded it and when. Only users with permission can add and remove files.

Files do not have to sit in e-mails and on personal drives. Data storage is a shared place for company documents in a folder structure.
For every file you see the versions and history: who uploaded it and when.

Key features:

- **Folders**: Arrange documents in a tree of folders by project, year or document type.
- **Files**: In every folder you see the name, size, date of the last change and who changed the file. You can search the list by name.
- **File versions**: Uploading a new version replaces the document without duplicates. Older versions are kept and you can download them.
- **Change history**: For every file you see who uploaded it or a new version, and when. It helps with checks and audits.
- **Permissions**: Only users with permission for the module add and remove files. Others may have read-only access or none.

Who is this module for? For companies that want shared documents under control without shared drives and e-mail attachments.

## What happens when I upload a new version of a file?

The file name stays, the content is replaced by the new version and older versions remain in the history, so you can download them.

## Can I see who uploaded a file?

Yes. The history of every file shows who uploaded it or a new version, and when.

## Who can upload and remove files?

Users with write permission for the module. Others may have read-only access or none.

## Can I search for files?

Yes. Above the list of files in a folder there is a search by name.

## Does the AI assistant have access to files in the storage?

No. Document storage is not among the modules the AI assistant can reach through MCP.
